Brundrich  fights Radio DJs, Presenters

One of Ghanaian musicians, Samuelson Brundrich, with the stage name Brundy, has said it is illegal for disk jockeys (DJs) and radio presenters to collect money from musicians before playing their music on the radio, night club and pub.

According to him, in Ghana today, musicians do not earn much and survive only on live shows so; it is unfair for presenters or DJs to collect money from the musicians before promoting their music.

The young and talented musician who has close links with hiphop rapper Sarkodie said “Right now, we are just doing music just for the sake of the fact that we love to do it, there is nothing else we can do apart from music so DJs and presenters show desist from extorting monies from musicians before playing their music on radio”. 

The musician who currently working on a number of single which he has plans of featuring Sarkodie, Stone Gee, Amakye Dede, Ofori Amponsah, and Stonebwoy, added that radio DJs and presenters have manipulated the music industry to the extent that the musician has to pay payola before his or her music could receive airplay. This, he said, has really crippled the music industry, forcing a number of music producers to quit.

He, however, announced that he is set to release his latest single on his debut album very soon. 

The well-arranged, mid-tempo, and danceable song which features Mike T on his sax, one cannot help but to involuntarily and instantaneously move or shake the body in an attempt to dance. 

The young talented musician who has clearly demonstrated that he is leaving no stone unturned to pursue his music career said he is ever ready to help promote Ghanaian music on the world market and believes the time has come for him to show the world the kind of stuff he is made of.
