TV3 Mentor returns; winner takes 2 – bedroom house

TV3’s Mentor, which took inspiration from the extremely popular American Idol returns after 6 years.

Undoubtedly one of the most popular music talent reality shows in Ghana, Mentor, produced and telecast by TV3 has returned with a press launch heralding its commencement.

TV3’s Mentor, which took inspiration from the extremely popular American Idol, was an instant hit when it debuted in 2006 and it continued for the next seven years until the last edition in 2013.

It’s been six years since it went off air and the nostalgia that comes with the mention of Mentor is obviously getting people excited over its comeback.

The auditions, the selection of contestants, regional theme songs and the weekly live shows, all made TV3 Mentor the viewers’ favorite, especially for the first four editions.

As television content, the show was successful, but as a project that sought to unearth music talent, give them exposure and establish them in the mainstream music business – Mentor faulted, in many ways.

However, the organizers have righted their wrongs and ensured Ghanaians of a bigger, better, transparent, promise keeping and rewarding edition.

Present at the launch were a myriad of media personnels and celebrities includoing former contestant f the music reality show, Nii Soul, who spoke against the selection of Adina as a judge for the show.

this was due to the factb that according to him, Adine was a product of a competing music reality show by Charterhouse Productions – Stars of the Future and hence, he would rather suggest that a former winner or contestant of the previous editions of Mentor would have rather been a perfect fit for the role.

He added that he doesn’t think Charterhouse would ever call a Mentor participant to be a judge if they were to host any similar event as such.

Furthermore, organizers of the 8th edition informed, “Forms can be downloaded or fill on our website. Mentor will start fully 8PM just after GMB ends. It will commence in every November.

We have a long journey, we need to do auditions across the region…we have Tamale, Takoradi, Kumasi and Accra. These are the centres but people can come from all corners of the country”.

The organizers were hopeful that the event will be very competitive.

“We have done a lot of research and because we are the pacesetters, we have put up a price tag of a two-bedroom house,” they revealed.

Northern sector auditions will be held on 9th October 2019 at Radach Lodge in Tamale, Middle Belt auditions on 11th October 2019 at TV3’s Premises in Asokwa-Kumasi, South-Western auditions on 16th October 2019 at Connect FM in Takoradi while South-Eastern auditions will come off on 18-19th October 2019 at TV3’s executive theatre located at Adesawey-Kanda in Accra.

The organizers explained that audition forms can be downloaded from 3news.com and can be submitted via mentor8@tv3network.com before 5th October 2019.

Other interested parties can also pick their forms at the above-mentioned audition venues when the time is due.
