Stonebwoy and I won’t be returning any awards – Shatta Wale

Shatta Wale explains several issues in latest interview.

Arguably the most-discussed artiste of the year so far, Shatta Wale has caved in on some interesting developments in a phone call interview.

It was concerning the recent fracas that went down at the 20th edition of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards, his upcoming Wonderboy album launch & Reign concert, the ‘Already’ collaboration with Beyonce, among other pertinent issues.

In an interview with DJ Advicer on Happy FM’s Happy Chatroom, the Dancehall king disclosed that his impending Wonderboy album launch would not have any songs on the album available on pen drives or CDs.

He stated, “Right now, we are teaching the fans how to market the album. This time the songs will strictly be on iTunes. The album will also be out few days before the launch. I’ve been working hard on this album. The album won’t be on pen drive or compact disk. it will be strictly online.

Boring down deeper on his impending Wonderboy album launch, the ‘Melissa’ crooner made it known that he did not feature any artiste on this album, hence the Stefflon Don song is probably a seperate single.

He further narrated, “My life has been a journey. Wonderboy is to educate, motivate the people that no one can shine the corner where they are except them. I just didn’t get my fans on a silver platter. I worked hard for them. I didn’t feature anyone on this album. I have 3 already released tracks like “Melissa, Ay3 Half Cast and Be Afraid” on my album. There’s no Shatta Wale ft Beyoncé on my album. However, I can have a project with her aside the album. Every Ghanaian artiste is invited to my album launch. I will give opportunity to 15 up and coming artistes to exhibit their talent. Reign concert will be the annual Christmas for Shatta Movement Empire.

For the first time after the Infinix news broke out, he was forthcoming with a few details of the deal and called it a partnership rather than an ambassadorial deal.

My deal with Infinix is very confidential and it’s a partnership. The phone will be launched on 20th September on Legon campus. On my album day, I will dash 10 Infinix hot 8 phones to my fans who will be able to sing 4 of my song lyrics.

Shedding off some of his many successes this year unto his SM Militants, he forecasted a good 2020 for them following Captan’s recent ‘Overdose’ single release, Joint 77’s ‘Front Page’ single, Addi Self’s ‘Trust Your Love’ and Natty Lee’s ‘Olympics’.

In answering issues relating to the awards that were won by himself and Stonebwoy but had to be returned after the altercation based on the VGMA board decision, he retorted:

I never had the chance to hold my awards so I don’t think I will be returning something I didn’t hold. Moreover, I don’t know where and who took the awards. Aside that I don’t think Stonebwoy or I will return it. Because it’s something the fans worked for, and we have to defend it.

The interview relapsed on his loyalty to Zylofon Media in which he assured that he wasn’t going to leave Zylofon Media despite Nam 1’s predicament and even though his contract with them ended a year ago”.
