There have been several reactions from a wide range of personalities and several updates relating to the viral Shatta Wale – Beyoncé collaboration and GhanaMusic.com brings to you a collage of all that has transpired so far.

Ghanaians have been questioning how Shatta Wale landed his deal with Beyoncé after the news came out, on Tuesday.

Speaking on the Super Morning Show on Joy FM, Wednesday, artiste manager, Lawrence Nana Asiamah Hanson, said the team did not pitch any work for selection as many fans have wondered.

“They reached out to our team through Leslie Quaynor, owner of Fantasy Dome and CEO of Fantasy Entertainment Ghana,” he told Daniel Dadzie host of the show.

He admitted Beyoncé had come to Africa to collect and gather up sounds based on her album theme but their deal was quite different from all the others.

Bulldog, as he is popularly called, stated, “I am sure Beyoncé’s team had scouted and listened wide, that’s how they came about their decision.”

On Beyoncé‘s 14-song new album, The Lion King: The Gift, Shatta Wale is featured in song number 11 – ‘Already’.

The song was also produced by Ghana’s own GuiltyBeatz.

GuiltyBeatz also co-produced two other songs on the album, “Find Your Way Back (Circle of Life)” by Beyoncé, and ‘Keys to The Kingdom’ by Tiwa Savage and Mr Eazi.

The artiste manager had initially worked with Shatta Wale on the song Beyonce’s team had asked them to jump on.

“When it came to us they wanted to do something special so after the initial work we had done on the song, a request came back to have us do more on a hook Beyoncé was initially supposed to do,” he revealed.

Bulldog stated, Beyoncé was impressed with the lyrics of Shatta Wale and asked for the change herself, “ she said it would be better for him to do that hook.”

He added the team is humbled because it was the criticisms and support of Ghanaians that elevated Shatta Wale to where he is now.

”This is a win for Ghana and the music industry and not just Shatta Wale,” he added.

The Lion King: The Gift, executive produced by Beyoncé, is out this Friday, July 19 via Parkwood Entertainment/Columbia Records.

Also, as spiritually inclined as Ghanaians are, we do not expect such a huge deal to have escaped the radar of our prophets do you?

Snapshot of a Facebook post sighted by MyNewsGh.com has revealed that the founder of Salvation Outreach Miracle Ministry, Prophet Adjei Sowah Telvin prophesied about Shatta Wale’s collaboration with an American star on March 27, 2018.

Furthermore, on why Shatta had kept this silent for all this while, seeing how outgoing and outspoken his sanguine nature is, the ‘Gringo’ composer told Sammy Flex in an interview on Zylofon FM, that he nearly told his fans about it but he was advised by some members of his team.

According to him, Chris Koney and Lawrence Nana Asiamah Hanson (Bulldog) were against his decision of making it public—and he listened to them.

Shatta Wale was of the view that many people would have doubted it if he gave a hint about the collabo earlier.

He believes whatever happens in his life is being regulated by God.

“When you believe in God, he will bring so many surprising things in your life,” Shatta Wale stated.

According to him, it took him three days to finish his version on the song because it did not suit Beyonce’s style and at a point, he thought the song will be rejected.

He said: “I Worked on the Beyonce Song for 3 Good Days; the back-and-forth Wasn’t Easy at All. You send them this part, they said naa, do it this way, do it that way.“

“Because of the back-and-forth, i thought my song would be rejected, i was soo afraid, and yes, I sounded like her on the song though”.

Shatta Wale, in celebrating the feat achieved, mentioned that he dedicates it to the President although under his watch the country is going through tough times.

“I dedicate this honour to his excellency @NAkufoAddo even though krom ayeshi,” he said.

For many, it’s about Shatta Wale being on the soundtrack for 2019 The Lion King movie. But that is false. Shatta Wale is not on the main soundtrack for The Lion King and you won’t hear his song with Beyoncé in the movie.

Beyoncé’s album, The Lion King: The Gift is not the same as the main soundtrack for the movie. She wrote the album with inspiration from the movie.

All music for the 2019 Lion King movie was composed by the Hans Zimmer, the same composer for the original film.

15 of the songs on the 19-track list for the new movie were written by Elton John and Tim Rice.

Beyoncé, however, wrote and performed one of the songs with Ilya Salmanzadeh and Labrinth titled ‘Spirit’. Queen B also performed ‘Can You Feel the Love Tonight’ with Donald Glover, Billy Eichner and Seth Rogen.

Aside from the movie’s soundtrack, Beyoncé revealed she had produced and curated an album titled The Lion King: The Gift on July 9, 2019.

Beyoncé explained authenticity and heart were importance to her since The Lion King film is set in Africa.

The only song on the album that is on the soundtrack is ‘Spirit’. The songs were produced by African producers including Ghanaian producer GuiltyBeatz.

Beyoncé’s The Lion King: The Gift album will be released worldwide on Friday 19th July, 2019.
