We will host a unity concert- Shatta Wale & Stonebwoy

Feuding factions in the Ghana music industry, Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy, have authenticated their unity with a just ended peace press conference that highlighted a unity concert.

Among several other statements made from the two top reggae /dancehall artistes, was the organizing of a unity concert that would see both Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy performing together on one stage.

Powered by the Kofi Abban foundation, they also announced at the conference that the date for the concert would soon be made known and that they would even love to have such a concert on a daily basis if possible.

“We have been yearning for peace for a long time because in peace creativity thrives”, said Stonebwoy.

In thanking the diverse parties that came into play to make their unity a success, Shatta Wale confirmed, “I think the regional police command really helped us because they started talking to us before other people joined in”.

Stonebwoy further reiterated the words of President Akuffo Addo in a recent speech he gave acknowledging that their attitudes really matter and hence, the need to change their attitudes.

I believe now parents want their children to become like me and Stonebwoy because of how far we have come so we need the media to help us, Shatta Wale pleaded.

When questioned on accepting to enter the VGMA awards scheme after their harsh punishments, Stonebwoy answered, “We are professionals. We are willing to work with anyone. The parties involved are not just me and Shatta. What they did to us can have an effect on us. We all admit to our faults. Charterhouse and VGMA board hasn’t come out to admit whether they are right or wrong but if they do we are willing to work together”.

“If they think it’s harsh on them it’s harsher on us so they should understand us and agree to bond too”, Stonebwoy said in answering the question on how their individual fanbase would accept their unity.

Shatta also topped it up with the fact that they control most of the youths in Ghana and even pushed for a Shatta Movement and BHIM nation region created due to this fact and further urged their fanbase to stay united.

VGMA New Artiste of the Year, Wendy Shay was also present and thanked the two factions for uniting and inspiring the upcoming artistes.

Facilitated by Nana Aba Anamoah, the vibe from the two artistes were that of humor and harmony, a direct opposite reaction observed on the 18th of May when the fracas occured.
