Joe Mettle, OJ, Ella Duncan-Williams King and others thrill dignitaries at Fundraising Dinner

The much-talked-about dinner launch towards fundraising in aid of a National Cathedral was held at the forecourt of the State House on the 28th of December 2018 and saw the deliveries of several Ghanaian Gospel artistes.

Esteemed acts such as renowned songwriter OJ, 2017 VGMA Artiste of the Year Joe Mettle, internationally acclaimed award-winning choir Harmonious Chorale and the silky-voiced minstrel, Ella Duncan-Williams King, the daughter of the fundraising committee head, Archbishop Nicholas Duncan-Williams, graced the stage and ushered various dignitaries and high profile personalities into the very presence of God.

In attendance was the visionary himself, His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwah Akuffo Addo, The Vice President Dr. Bawumia, The First and Second Ladies, Speaker of Parliament, Hollywood Star, Idris Elba, International Model, Naomi Campbell, among several other important personalities.

Joe Mettle treated the audience to brief but powerful songs off his ‘God of Miracles’ album.

OJ inculcated well-crafted verses on the importance and blessing in giving to support the agenda of building a National Cathedral, while performing several of his thought-provoking hit songs.

It really served as a night of great honor and pride for Archbishop Nicholas Duncan-Williams when Ella Duncan-Williams King, her daughter, mounted the stage on two separate instances to deliver soul-stirring ministrations in a rather western style of singing.

The people’s joy was made complete when Harmonious Chorale took to stage with what has grown to become an unofficial Christian national anthem in Ghana, ‘Oye’.

It was the perfect introduction to the main agenda for the night and it gladdened hearts to be opened enough to give generously and cheerfully towards the cause.

indigenous Poet, Nana Asaase was also present to issue a brief yet profound delivery spiced with cultural displays of the famous music and dance of several cultures within Ghana prior to the official speech by the President.

The evident role that music played in the entire gathering couldn’t be overemphasized as each act thrilled the audience with their individually unique style of delivery that complimented the agenda of inspiring godliness and patriotism through the fundraising.
