In explaining her choice for naming her debut album ‘Manye 1’, she revealed saying, “Call it a re-birth or re-introduction of myself.

The title was heavily inspired by the fans especially my new ones; they have received me so well such that now everywhere I go all I hear is ‘Manye 1’.

“Also ‘Manye’ means ‘a queen’ and since everyone calls me the queen of vocals, why not affirm the validation my fans and the world has already bestowed on me by making it official”.

In clearing the air on a story circulating in the media as to why Kojo Antwi and her dad, Pat Thomas, were not featured on her maiden album, NanaYaa stated that hopefully in 2019 and beyond, they would be included in her subsequent albums.

It would also feature other top shots in the Neo-Soul, Hi-life and Afropop genres but her ‘Manye 1’ debut album was solely put together for the fans and for commercial purposes.
