Sarkodie gets MOBO nomination

Barely two months after dropping his album the Highest, Sarkodie has been nominated for the Best African Act category at the MOBO Awards.

The rapper is joined in the same category by two other Ghanaians Eugy and Juls with Davido, Maleek Berry, Mr Eazi, Tekno, Tiwa Savage, Wande Coal and Wizkid completing the nominees’ line up.

Currently occupying 7th position on the iTunes US Hip-Hop Album Charts with his Highest album, Sarkodie recognition with this nomination is a proof of the work he has put in under the year in review.

The MOBO Award show is held annually in the United Kingdom to recognise artists of any ethnicity or nationality performing black music. The MOBO Awards are seen as a UK equivalent to the BET Awards.

The MOBO Best African Act has previously been won by Samini in 2006 and Fuse ODG in 2013.
This nomination further goes to cement Sarkodie’s status as one of the topmost artists in Africa
