Obed Antwi Amankwah to host music jamboree soon

Ghanaian sound engineer, Obed Antwi Amankwah will host a music jamboree to unearth talented students to be sponsored by the Foundation.

The Jamboree will bring together over 20 Senior High Schools, both public and private within the Greater Accra Region to compete in musical activities, and quizzes and at the same time have fun with music from renowned performing artistes in Ghana.

In addition to developing talent, the event is also being organized to promote Ghanaian music, culture, and tradition to the outside world.

Obed explained that Ghanaians cannot do away with our culture and music, which is a guideline in our day-to-day activities.

He noted that promoting Ghanaian culture will attract tourists who will be prepared to pay money to know more about the country and its culture.

He was of the view that Ghanaians should not allow themselves to be influenced by western culture, which has created a lot of problems in our communities.

According to him, he has taken it upon himself to use his establishment to promote Ghanaian music and is ready to support various cultural groups in the country in their effort to promote traditional music and dance.

He said there is a lot to be done with respect to helping Ghanaian musicians make ends meet, which according to him, needs the support of everybody.
