The much anticipated awards scheme, 3 Music Awards, after a memorable edition last year, is back again, bigger and better, to thrill patrons at this year’s edition.
Here’s all you need to know on what to expect come Saturday, 30th March inside the Fantasy Dome.
Following the previous editions’ opening act who was none other than Stonebwoy, this year’s event has tipped his genre rival, Shatta Wale, as the opening act.
We don’t know what games they might be playing but one sure thing is that it’s going to be one of Shatta Wale’s most sought after deliveries of his career and you wouldn’t want to miss that.
Aside Shatta Wale, other celebrated performers within the industry would each bring their ‘A’ game on to ensure maximum entertainment and these include Samini, Adina, Wendy Shay, Joe Mettle, Victor AD, Adina, among others.
The event will be broadcasted live on JoyPrime TV, DSTV Channel 196 and GoTV Channel 100 for accessibility to a more diversified global audience.
There would be a pre-show gala at 7pm followed by the main show at 8pm and patrons are employed to be punctual as one of the highlights of the night would be delivering within the first minutes of the show.
Talk of controversies surrounding the host for this year’s edition and Joselyn Dumas’ Twitter rants come to mind. Apparently, Sadiq Abu, the head of the awards scheme, cleared the air this morning on radio on the reasons behind her rantings.
He disclosed that they delayed in paying her but have now ironed out all their differences and stayed true to their initial promise to Joselyn as contracting her as the host for about four editions of the 3 Music Awards.
Hence, her appearance for the second time running as a co-host with the first timer, James Gardener and the infamous Journalist, Nathaniel Attoh.
The main show will be hosted by Joselyn Dumas, Nathaniel Attoh & James Gardiner with the Gala/Pre-show and Flava room hosted by Lexis Bill and MsGee. Official DJ will be Andy Dosty.
A special performance block themed, “leaders of the new school”, will be some upcoming talents to shine the spotlights on them. These are the ones already nominated in the Next rated category.
Just to wrap it all up, Adina revealed on Hitz FM this morning that every single performance or movement on stage has been perfectly scripted; from your entrance to your exit.
It goes a long way to show the the level of excellence projected to be displayed on the night.
