1 On 1: Thank you Ghana, I’m humbled – Diana Hamilton

Ghanamusic.com was privileged to be granted an exclusive interview with the freshest VGMA certified Gospel Artiste of the Year who equally owns the only VGMA certified gospel song of the year, Diana Hamilton.

This is what ensued as we conversed:

Q: We are really happy for your win. how has the reception been so far?
A: thank you very much. I’m really grateful it has been amazing… So yeah… Thank you.

Q: How does it feel to be the current reigning Gospel Artiste of the Year?
A: I don’t even know whether I’m reigning but eh… The feeling is good, it’s humbling, it just gives you the chance to do more. So yeah…it’s a very mixed feeling, there was the excitement, there is the reality and there’s the ‘let’s work harder’… Yeah yeah.

Q: How do you plan on doing more?
A: oh it also brings out the fact that you now need to work harder, pray harder and just believe God to bring greater things your way.

Q: OK. What do you think made you win two awards at the just ended VGMAs
A: Hmm… The first thing is God, the second thing is the song, Mo Ne Yo, and maybe the work we have done during the year in review and most importantly, it is the love shown by Ghanaians in Ghana and abroad.

Q: How far do you think the Diana Hamilton brand has reached and did that influence your win?
A: The interest around the world, it’s amazing. I cannot even explain… You know … Ermm… And I’m sitting here thinking how did it happen? But God made it possible, hardwork made it possible, but most importantly, people around the world, people in Ghana, the love, social media. There was this serious campaign going on that I don’t even know how it started but it kinda took off and I’m so grateful.

Q: What’s next for the Diana Hamilton Music Ministries(DHMM)?
A: The next thing is a lot of hardwork, a lot of prayers, a lot of waiting on God and eh… We’ll see what God can do.

Q: Any final words to your fans?
A: I just pray that God would grant me grace to be able to work hard and ermm… To be able to return the love… The love shown me. So thank you. Thank you so much. Thank you Ghana. Thank you everyone.
