New Artiste

Meet the versatile rap prodigy: Datz

Issa Sadat Richmond, stage named Datz, is a young versatile rap artiste poised in recording and performing hip-hop, hip life, and Afro-pop/beats genres of music.

As a native of Obuasi Zongo in the Ashanti Region, Datz chose to do the above genre of music because of his ability to rap comfortably with energy, swag, and flair accompanied with powerful lyrical content.

Datz, a product of Mfantsipim Senior High School, took music as a professional career in 2012 and has since shared stages and performed with leading names in the music industry such as Shatta Wale, Yaa Pono, Tinny, Trigmatic, Stonebwoy, Vvip, Samini, Gasmilla, just to mention a few.

Datz is currently under the management of “Higher Life Records” and represents all Zongo communities in Ghana. He responds to jargons such as “Braaa” and “Weimey”.

He has been engaged by brands and events such as MTN pulse concert, Grey Industry night, Ghana Street Dance Concert held at the Oxford Street Mall, Osu, Hausa music awards nominees jams held at Nima, Chalewote and Socks party, Chalewote street Art festival, Easter Alomo Jams with Stonebwoy and many more to showcase his art and craft.

His ability to blend the Hausa language with English and Twi lyrically ended him a nomination in the Hausa Music Award in the Hip-hop artist of the year category.

He spends most of his weekend in the music studio when not performing and has songs like Foto, Yaas3, Mungodey, Mene Saara, So High and Kuwuchey to his credit.

Currently, Datz is promoting a smashing street banger titled “We Dey Outside” and is ready to take over the Ghanaian music scene.
