Celebrated Music Producer and Sound Engineer Yosef Appiah, popularly known as Quick Action, has thrown his support behind Naterial, one of the four finalists of the MTN HIT Maker music reality contest scheduled for the Accra International Conference Centre, this Friday October 5, 2012.
“We would be doing a great service to Ghana music and really help our industry if we help Naterial win this competition. Though all the contestants are good, Naterial best deserves to win; he is not just a singer but also has the showmanship thing in him and remained consistent in moving the crowd.“But he heeds votes and I plead with the general public and all lovers of good music to please help him win by texting NAT to MTN short code 1327. In doing that, we would be making a direct investment into the career of someone who has what it takes to become an international superstar from Ghana. I trust and hope Ghanaians would not let us down,” Quick Action told BEATWAVES in an interview Monday.
According to Quick Action, he has known Naterial for a few years and could testify that the young musician had the right attitude.
“Naterial is good. He is a very respectful boy who is willing to learn and humble enough to take instructions. Anything you advice him to do, he takes it serious and adds his creativity to it. And as I said, Naterial is very different from his peers. He is not a CD artiste. He performs to a live band on most occasions and aside his vocals, he understands how to perform to move the crowd. We should not let him down just because the competition is based on votes. We need to come together and make him win by texting his stage name, NAT to 1327 on and MTN phone,” Quick concluded.
Naterial, aged 21, was the youngest contestant among the four and on Friday would be doing a live band performance with dancehall king, Samini.
In an earlier interview, Naterial explained why Ghanaians should vote for him: “Ghanaians should please vote for me because I have something in me and I must win this completion to help me bring out that thing. Ghanaians would never regret because I would become an international superstar and every single person who votes for me would always look back and nod with a sense of achievement.
“I want to make Ghana proud. I have a burning desire for music and dance and I am pleading with whoever is reading this interview to please text NAT to MTN short code 1327. I appreciate all persons who have voted for me although I don’t know them.
“I really need the votes now, more than ever. I thank you all and may God bless you and reward you. I also won’t let you down. And thank you too for the opportunity. I appreciate it.”
