A fashion/music show dubbed ‘Afropolitan Night’ will on Saturday, September 24 rock the Alliance Française in Accra with contemporary designs and compositions that are set to thrill live music and fashion fans.
Organized by Aphrodisiac Worldwide, the show will enable music and fashion fans to watch models on the catwalk as they unveil latest collections from Aphrodisiac’s rich assortments.
The 2011 Aphrodisiac Worldwide Collections, which have been dubbed ‘Africa Rocks’, will feature afro-urban styles and accessories.
Indeed, with a modern twist on the classics, the collection offers a cultural reinterpretation of retro design – a blend of metropolitan edge and retro elegance.
Splashed with a burst of vivid colour, fans would have a feast for their eyes as well as an opportunity to shop from numerous temporal stalls that would be set up by various designers, while dynamic DJ Ras Dunbar entertains guests with Jazz, Soul, R&B, Hip Life and Afro Beat tunes.
Popular Ghanaian recording artiste Efya Awindor of Stars of the Future fame would perform at the programme. Formerly known as Jane, she won an award for Best Female Vocal Performance at the 2008 edition of the prestigious Ghana Music Awards.
A nominee for KORA Music and Channel O Music Video Awards, all in 2008, two of her songs, ‘A moment’s Notice’ and ‘Nothing Nu’ were used in Shirley Frimpong Manso’s box office hit ‘Perfect Picture’.
The programme is being sponsored by the Alliance Française in collaboration with the French Embassy in Accra.
