The Big In Ghana Talent Hunt and Tour started off last weekend blowing the minds of fans in Takoradi and Tema. The final 2 FREE shows are scheduled at the Kumasi Cultural Centre on Fri. 31st Aug and Holy Gardens in Circle, Accra on Sat. 1st Sept. The tour is sponsored by Bavaria and supported by Alomo.

The FOKN Bois, Efya and Yaa Pono, along with the new found talents dazzled an excited crowd at the Jubilee Park on Friday the 24th of August. They were backed by live band music from Afro Harmony, Ghana’s youngest professional band.

After the honorary opening act by King Lucas who warmed up the crowd in Takoradi, the touring four new talents Anas (Takoradi), NT4 (Kumasi), Ohene Amoako (Tema), and Bryte (Accra) showed the diversity and talent that Ghana has to offer by performing their best to win votes.

Powerful performances by Yaa Pono who did “Shopping Mall”, “Oh Joe” & “I Dey Feel You Die”, to mention a few, Efya who sung “Little Things”, “Sexy Wahala” & “Best in Me” as part of her 8 song set, FOKN Bois who performed “Thank God We’re Not A Nigerians”, tracks from individual albums, tracks from “Coz Ov Moni”, the ever so controversial “Ko Ti Eduro” song as well as surprise appearances from Gyedu Blay Ambolley & Kofi Kinaata sent the Takoradi crowd into a frenzy! The attendees did not want to leave even after the show was over.

A Takoradi concert goer said: ”I can’t believe this show was free. I would have gladly paid. Live band and such good performances hasn’t happened here in a very long time.”

In Tema, the beautiful display of lights, LED images and crisp powerful sound coming from the Big In Ghana stage attracted many people from the community 7 neighborhood. The host of the tour,  PY of The One Show, was pleasantly surprised by Pope Skinny of Kasahari Level who assisted in hosting and hyping the Tema crowd with spontaneous performances. Again the opening acts impressed and the headliners Yaa Pono, Efya & FOKN Bois once again outperformed themselves.

Bryte, the new talent from Accra, has moved two steps closer to winning the Ultimate Bavaria GHC 20,000 valued prize with leading votes from the audience in both Tema and Takoradi.

DJ Black of the Open House Party will be joining the final 2 FREE shows at the Kumasi Cultural Centre (Fri. 31st Aug) and Holy Gardens in Circle, Accra (Sat. 1st Sept). He will bring his Video DJ’ing skills that are currently on show on Channel O. DJ Black said “This year I toured Europe with the FOKN Bois, and I just had to be on this tour. I am going to get the crowd ultra-hype before the artists hit the stage.”

Yaa Pono: ‘’We rocked Takoradi and Tema; Kumasi and Accra can only be better and we’re all really excited!’’.

Big In Ghana Talent Hunt and Tour is sponsored by Bavaria and supported by Alomo.

Chief Executive Officer of Guardian Angel Promotions, organizers of the event, Jackie Ankrah underscored the need for Ghanaians to appreciate the many talents in the country and the need to preserve it for posterity.
