In the past decade, it has been called everything from the “ greatest hoax ever perpetrated on mankind” to the “ greatest challenge to face man” . There have been conventions, coalitions, and conferences held in its name.

Hundreds of politicians have discussed, debated and even come to agree on possible solutions armed with which we might stand and face its impending challenge.

Millions of people have individually altered their own lifestyles and together they have walked, run and biked in fierce protest. The issue at hand is climate change; Climate change is one of the most influencing issues that threatened the very foundation of human lives.

The British Council Ghana in collaboration with Youth Icons Ghana organized a climate change forum dubbed “ Musicians for Climate Change” to draw musicians to join hands in the fight against climate change.

It was at this forum that AMAMRE FOLK MUSIC AND DANCE ENSEMBLE outdoored their spectacular musical drama on climate change to educate the people present on the effects of climate change and the supposed positive activities that will prevent it from occurring.

To the audience gathered, it was a master piece worth showcasing to the world.

Less than six months after their performance at the British council, Amamre Music and Dance Ensemble have been invited to showcase their stunning musical drama at a Climate Change Adaptation workshop been organized by the Climate Change Task Force in Copenhagen, Denmark from the 22-23 of November 2010.

The leader of the group asserts that although they have performed on various stages all over the world this platform is a dream come true because the group had always wanted an international platform where it could hammer well on the adverse effects of climate change and the need for us to change our habits for the good of the environment.

He added that anytime the group rehearses, he encourages them to be very creative since they do not know when somebody very connected may be watching.
