m can authoritatively confirm to you that Sarkodie, the divisive hip-hop/hiplife leading light in the hiplife scene leads the pack of Ghana Music Award nominees this year with eight - Artiste of the Year, Most Popular Song of the Year, Discovery of the Year, Hiplife/Hiphop Artiste of the Year, Hiplife/Hiphop Song of the Year Best Collaboration of the Year, Best Rapper of the Year, Album of the Year. Hiplife/reggae singers, Wutah and rap group, 4x4 also earned five nominations each whiles Ayigbe Edem beat them to six nominations including one for Best collaboration of the Year.
There were also performances from Wutah, Celestine Donkor, Ohemaa Mercy, Kwabena Kwabena and Gyedu Blay Ambolley. Final winners will be publicized on the 10th April 2010.
