Mzbel in secret wedding

Versatile Ghanaian female artiste, Nana Ekua Amoah aka Mzbel is in the news again, but not over her controversial weird stage performances. The good news this time is that the 30-year-old queen of hip-life has reportedly landed a husband.

Mzbel, who had been at the centre of a number of controversies, is now alleged to be legally married to a US-based Nigerian businessman. News One sources in Nigeria only gave the name of the ‘well-to-do’ Ibo guy as Chukwuemeka or Chuks for short, and hinted that the marriage has been legalized through a secret engagement recently.

The same source refused to give any further details, but added that plans are afoot to ‘launch’ the marriage in Ghana in a grand style one of these fine days.

The last time she was in the news over her love life, the hot singer and sex symbol said she had decided to stop putting her relationship issues in the public domain because the last time she did so by announcing her affair with a Nigerian guy, and their advanced plans to get married, some Ghanaians sent what she described as false text massages and e-mails about her to her Nigerian fiancé, provoking him to change his mind about her.

It is not clear if the newfound Ibo guy was the same man that lost interest in her some two years ago. She was however quizzed by the media on her other relationships. She struggled recently to confirm or deny rumours that she was in an intimate relationship with Prince Kofi Amoabeng, Chief Executive Officer of UT (Unique Trust) Financial Services and newly established UT Bank.

Speaking on Peace FM’s “Entertainment Review” recently, Mzbel initially told show host Akwasi Aboagye that it was not true she was dating the renowned CEO and flatly denied any remote relationship with the man.

“No it’s not true, I’m not dating the boss of any loan company. I really wish I was dating someone like that, because I’m sure he would have helped me with a loan for my musical career,” she said. But upon further probing, the artiste admitted knowing him, saying, “He is a very close friend.

“He was one of the numerous philanthropists and good Samaritans who came to my aid when I was in crisis,” she added. She also mentioned that the management of Erata Hotel offered her hotel accommodation for free, for several weeks in order for her to get over the shock (of being raped by armed robbers); and "so did other individuals and companies like UT". Mzbel has so far released four albums, namely “Saucy Girl”, after “Awoso Me”, “16 Years” and “Edey Be”.
