Channel O's status as Africa's only Original. African music channel is getting a boost with news that Lungile is to host the red carpet at the MTN Ghana Music Awards.
The popular Channel O VJ will also present an award at the awards ceremony which sees Channel O onboard as media partner for the second year.
“This is a big honour for me,” says Lungile. “Channel O takes its Original African tag seriously and being part of the MTN Ghana Music Awards is an important part of this.”
The 2009 MTN Ghana Music Awards take place on Saturday 4 April at the Conference Centre in Accra and recognise the best music talent to have emerged in the country over the past year.
“We are very happy about Channel O's continued support of the MTN Ghana Music Awards and in extension the promotion of music brewed in the Ghanaian pot. We want this partnership to grow yearly as it gives rise to the continuous growth of African music,” says Nii Ayite from Chaterhouse Ghana, the organisers of the event.
Lungile will be in Ghana in the days leading up to the awards and will be attending the official Ghana Music Awards Nominees Party on Friday 3 April. Fans can also catch Lungsta at the Ghana Music Awards Celebration Jam on Sunday 5 April.
