The Vodafone BlackBerry campaign took off with Ghanaian spoken word artiste/poet/musician/lyricist, Mutombo as its first 'victim' who was pestered to buy a Black Berry mobile phone.
Mutombo finally conceded defeat and bought a Blackberry at the Vodafone Cantoments branch.
“I now have unlimited access to my fans via social media. I can also send short clips of my works to my fans directly from my BlackBerry from Vodafone”, the excited Mutombo said.
The exciting and annoying campaign has caught up with hiplife musician, Kokovelli of 'Zaaza' fame also.
The mob are at it again and have beisged Kokovelli's house early in the morning, chanting messages such as “Kokoveli, have you got your BlackBerry yet? We have retail shops all over town!”, “Kokoveli get a BlackBerry from Vodafone” and “Kokoveli we will keep this up till you get a BlackBerry from Vodafone”.
Vodafone Ghana in a way also wants Kokovelli to also share the 'A-one' experience when he gets hooked on the Blackberry.
All Vodafone customers have to do is to suggest a friend or family member by filling a form at any Vodafone outlets in Ghana. Vodafone then recommends 'that friend' you chose to get a Blackberry from Vodafone Ghana shops.
