I was not evicted, I was withdrawn says Christian

The sudden withdrawal of Christian Owusu, one of Ghana's two contestants in the MTN Project Fame Academy some weeks ago, due to his sudden blindness in the Academy, has left most of his fans shattered.

This week, your exciting Chronicle Entertainment Train Driver had a chit a chat with Christian, who was more than glad to share his story and experiences in the Academy with your train driver.

Born twenty two years ago, Christian attended Obiri Yeboah Secondary School at Assin Fosu, then on to the Gloryland School of Music in Obuasi.

According to him, his passion for music was so intense that he wrote several songs most of the time, despite the fact that he had no producer then, yet his quest for pursuing music urged him on to take advantage of every music competition he heard of.

His participation in the Stars of The Future Season four competition last year brought him to the limelight, placing second to Bertha, the current winner of that competition, he noted, was his gateway to bigger opportunities.

Christian explained that the grooming and musical enlightenment he received during his stay in the Stars of the Future House helped him during his stay in the Project Fame Academy.

Adding that his admission into the Academy was a humbling experience for him!

'My experience in the MTN Project Fame House was wonderful! I learnt a lot of things I didn't know, and most importantly, I realised there was more to singing than to standing on a stage, or before an audience to sing. The experience was amazing,' he stressed.

He told your train driver that every contestant, fortunate to be in the academy, was obviously a winner, although it takes only one to become the ultimate winner, a quest he was hoping to achieve until disaster struck!

Christian explained that he was not evicted, rather he was withdrawn from the competition, because he went blind for eighteen hours, and based on the doctor's advice, he had to rest for six weeks. This situation was what resulted in his withdrawal.

As to what exactly caused his blindness, not even Christian could explain it, but the good news is he regained his sight after a few days, and to date can see.

It is unfortunate he had to go through such a setback at the time when he had built a large number of fans and support through his stay in the academy.

He seemed to have moved on after the incident, thus with a positive attitude he was excited about working on his single track, which is sure to cause a stir in the music industry, when released.

Education he has not ruled out completely, as he intends to go to the university next year, while working on his album.

Asked which of the contestants he wants to see win, this is what he had to say, 'I want Kesse to win the competition because he is good, and he is a great guy, so please vote and pray for him.'

At the end of his interview, he said, 'I want thank God for such a talent given to me; to my family, and to all ma fans, I love u all, and expect something big from me!'
