The Mentor fans felt the thrill by the splendid performances by the contestants last Sunday 22nd February 2009 at TV3 Studio B.The contestants mounted the stage to prove they were in a class of their own. Each time any of the contestants took to the stage, patrons were moved to their feet, cheering, dancing and singing along. All the contestants performed at their peak and reflected classic stagecraft and creativity.
The Judges were also set to comment on these performances.
The competition began with Julie representing the Brong Ahafo region. She did a song entitled 'Smooth operator'. She could not impress the Judges so much that she got 5 stars in all. "It did not go down well with me" said Dominic.
The atmosphere changed when Sam from the Ashanti region followed to perform 'Human nature' originally done by Michael Jackson. It was an outstanding performance according to the Judges. His stagecraft and appearance was fantastic. "You did a lot of work" said one of the Judges. In all, Sam received 13 stars.
Next was Angel from the Eastern region. She took the challenge to do a song entitled 'Sweet love'. Her performance received 9 stars from the Judges. Dominic who gave her 5 stars noted Angel had good communication skills and was able to sustain her breath. "Excellent performance".
The fun still continued as Naa from the Greater Accra region also took the task to perform 'Cross my heart'. Her performance received 3 stars each from the Judges and blamed the band for her poor performance.
Chris from the Greater Accra also managed to perform 'Thinking about you'. It was quite an impressive performance which received 7 stars in all. The band was rather commended for a good work done.
The performance of Mike representing the Greater region was a delight to watch. He tried in performing 'Let's go dancing' which was engrossed by all. He was therefore lauded for his stage control, confidence, stable voice and good responses with the band. Mark for the first time declared his intension for Mike saying anytime Mike stands for eviction, he will save him. He was awarded 11 stars.
In the second segment contestants came in pair to do some breathtaking songs.
Unlke the Judges studio audience were ecstatic with every performance. The presenters K.O.D and Dentaa added more flavour to the show.
