Ghanaian rapper Edem has begun this year’s Mothers’ Day celebration in earnest, almost a week to the day.
This year’s celebration falls on Sunday May 13 and a lot of events have been planned to mark it.
It appears the Ghanaian rapper doesn’t have enough patience to wait for Sunday, as he has already started sending wishes to mothers.
He took to his social network, twitter, to convey his message to his mothers.
“Happy mothers’ day to all the lovely mothers around the world and all those filling in as mothers, God bless…” he posted on twitter on Saturday evening.
He was last in the news for his memorable moments on the Ghana Music Awards red carpet with ex-girlfriend Confidence Haugen. Prior to that, he was lambasted for his poor video for his ‘Over Again’ hit song.
In December last year, Edem, born Denning Edem Agbeviadey, announced his decision to drop the Ayigbe from his then showbiz name Ayigbe Edem.
He adopted Ayigbe Edem as his stage name when he broke into the music scene with the release of his maiden album, ‘The Volta Regime’, in 2008.
Currently, ‘Over Again’ and ‘Ghetto Arise’ hit songs from his latest ‘Mass Production’ album, are enjoying massive airplay.
Other track on the albums are ‘The Legacy’ featuring Tinny, ‘Wey Tin’, ‘Medekuku’, ‘Kate’ featuring Joey B, ‘Believe’, ‘Go Getter’, ‘Megbonna’ and more. The album has every flavour of music genre.
It was launched with a huge party at the Barcadis Nightclub in Tema on Saturday, December 31, where he mounted the stage to do what he knows best.
