Dela Botri, known to be among a few who are still holding the torch of contemporary music and its instruments in Ghana, is set to travel to Finland for what has become a bi-annual teaching trip.
This time around, he will be going in the company of two members of his Hewale Sounds and from November 3rd to December 2nd this year, they will actively be teaching various School grades and Universities including the Sibelius Academy in Helsinki, Espoo and Tampere all in Finland.
He will also lead music performances with a Finish group, Meresi, at the Kaiser Hall and Vaanta all in Helsinki.
Apart from teaching extensively on the Ghanaian and African music instrument and music, he will also teach music teachers and educators from selected schools and institutions across Finland in a 'trainer of trainers' section.
A high point of the trip is a Music Pedagogy Workshop where Dela Botri is expected to address delegates there.
Last year just around this same period, he held a similar workshop on flute, singing (on the different styles and forms of Ghanaian music: Kpanlogo, Borborbor and lullabies from the different ethnic groups in Ghana) and teachings on traditional drums.
He also recently returned from the US where he was among personalities selected from across the world by the United States government to take part in this year’s International Visitors Leadership Program.
Dela Botri is the founder and leader of the sensational Hewale Sounds who are specialized in contemporary Ghanaian music and instruments.
