The mentoring and excitement at this year’s edition of MTN Project Fame West Africa (PFWA) will know no limits as another international African music star spends an entire weekend inside the academy with the contestants.
Batman Samini, a multiple award winning Ghanaian musician who has earned accolades from MTV, Channel O and HipHop World Awards asides claiming his country’s (Ghana) Music Awards back to back for several years, joined the contestants for rehearsals/training/mentoring session on yesterday, Friday. And today, he gets to be a one-off judge as contestants deliver their first set of reggae performances.
Just like Asa ,who gave a good account of herself; performing some of her greatest hits during the first weekend of the MTN PFWA Season three, Samini, who is a fantastic live performer will also get to show his stage prowess and teach contestants a few lessons in crowd control, audience engagement and stage multi-tasking.
Samini’s visit is in line with Ultima Studios’(the producers) position to fill this season with multiple mentoring sessions with the aim of bringing in some of the best hands to join the judges, choreographers, music instructors, voice coach and others in creating a fresh set of talents to do the academy proud.
Also, this weekend, two contestants will be leaving Project Fame Season 3. The judges gave the contestants an extra week to polish their acts but now, the grace period is over as the show moves on to the business side of things. The two contestants with the lowest votes will be eliminated from the show.
