Ayigbe Edem has announced that he has dropped ‘Ayigbe’ from his showbiz name.
In a recent interview with Ghana Music.com, he said “Ewes take offence when they are called Ayigbe and we all know the history behind us. But I take pride in my name. After my first album release, every fan took it cool and the reasons has been fulfilled”.
Denin Agbeviadey has gone by the name Ayigbe Edem since the start of his music career in 2008, but he told Ghana Music.com that ‘Ayigbe’ has served the purposed he wanted it to and has to let go off it.
The name change may be an effort by Edem to reinvent himself in support of his expanding music career.
