Peacefmonline.com is reliably informed that Hiplife artiste A.S.E.M Asem and his management are planning to drag Big Events Ghana, organizers of the Globa Radio and Television Personality Awards to court over what they describe as unprofessionalism and irresponsibility on the part of the organizers.
A source close to the 'Give Me Blow' rapper disclosed that Asem is very furious and embarrassed for falling on stage during his performance at the event last Saturday October 13, 2012 at the Dome and he is already talking to his legal advisers to text the law over the issue.
After his performance he took some time to pay tribute to legendary broadcaster Charlie Sam who died recently and great names like Tommy Annan Forson, Kwami Sefa Kayi, Fiifi Banson, Abeiku Santana among others.
The “Pigaro” singer lost his balance on the stage as he exited and unfortunately tripped when his leg hit some misplaced cables on the floor of the stage and fell flat on the sparsely decorated stage after a very splendid performance of his hit song “Bye bye” with all the cheers and applause. Asem was quick to stand back on his feet before the paparazzi got shots of him on the floor.
According Peacefmonline.com sources Asem believes this has happened to several other artistes on different events but nobody seem to care about how it happens and what can than to prevent such disgrace in front of a huge crowd.
“Asem is blaming the organizers and technical team for irresponsibly putting cables on the floor when they know it can easily make someone fall or possibly electrocute someone. Somebody has to be held responsible for this and the organizers would have to answer in court. It is the duty of the organizers to ensure the safety of every artiste who performed on stage and we will definitely pursue this case”, a member of Asem’s management told Peacefmonline.
Asem was not the only one who tripped on the night; some award presenters also suffered similar embarrassment. A white woman who came on stage to present an award had no control of herself and fell helplessly while walking on stage and that was really sympathetic. One of the twin gospel singers Tagoe Sisters who came on stage to present awards also tripped and almost fell but for support of her twin sister.
Co MC of the night Joselyn Dumas of Viasat 1 fame nearly touched the ground but was quick to regain her balance and Singer Efya also had her fair share of the stage tripping so she had to change her direction to use the other side of the stage.
The last time an artiste also fell whiles performing on stage was at Imajin Advertising’s “Stand Up GH” concert when sensational female rapper Lousika and Dade Opanka fell flat on the stage in the middle of their performance.
