Kwadwo Ampofo, known in the entertainment and radio world as DJ Black (or Mr Black!) has every reason to feel proud.
He is the first African Disc Jockey to be recognized for his hustle and hard work as one who has achieved a lot even with constraints in the DJ industry in Africa.
The United DJ Alliance, which consists of Sniper Squad DJs, Lord Gang DJs, Future Star DJs, Digiwaxx Media, Sucker Proof DJs and Street Connect DJs, has nominated Ghana’s DJ Black alongside Mc Lyte, Naughty by Nature, Terminology, Ron Patterson, Joell Ortiz, DJ Money B, Mixmaster Ice. There are other nominees for the 2010 Red Carpet Independent artiste and DJ A&R awards.
The red carpet awards is not a competition and being nominated for it is a big achievement as it means the industry has recognized the hard work from each of the nominees.
Some of the nominees will receive awards whilst others will receive letters of recognition and A&R awards. The awards will be preceded with media interactions and an industry panel discussion.
This prestigious awards will be held at Club Skye in Tampa, Florida, on the 24th of January 2010, and will be hosted by Troy2davent.
The flag of Ghana is once again hoisted high on the international world by the definition of sound, his royal Blackness, DJ Black of JOY 99.7 FM.
