Joy FM, presenter Bola Ray has said that he and his colleague radio presenters are not to blame for the sloppy growth of hiplife and Ghanaian music as a whole. “I can not market hip lfe for the rest of my life. I have done my best. The music makers themselves should do the rest”, he noted.
He pointed out that the music makers themselves have not made any conscious efforts to see their music, which is their business, grow.
“For more than 10 years I have been on radio and television trying to promote hiplife but now I’m moving on into bigger dimensions”, he said.
According to him, besides his very busy schedule as the Evening Drive time host on Joy Fm and his personal venture as CEO of Empire Entertainment, he is also currently pursuing his Masters Degree and thus has passed the level where he would make hiplife his burden.
He said it’s a mirage when people suggest that hiplife is dead. “Sakordie is a typical example that hiplife is not dead”, he said strongly.
Bola Ray is one of Ghana’s finest radio presenters and for many years to come, his contributions to the entertainment industry in Ghana will serve as his memorial.
He suggested that this is the best time to market and promote Ghana Music because technology abounds. He added that talent, uniqueness and professionalism can get us there.
