Concept Children have always played an important part in the structure of the family, which relatively affects our communities and society as a whole. The child is the salt of the family that brings a natural bond to most parents.

Ratified by 192 of 194 member countries, the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child defines a child as “a human being below the age of 18 years”. A child is but a person of a lower level of maturity needing adult protection, love and nurturing.

Children generally have fewer rights than adults and are classified as not being able to make serious decisions, and must legally always be under the care of a responsible adult.

MOB Records, through the initiative of its founder, is helping support the orphans, the street child and needy children in the society through the establishment of the “Children of the Future” (ACOTF) project.

Since the dawn of time, music has played an important part in the development of the human race. The concept behind the Awal’s Children of  the Future (ACOTF) project is to use music as a channel to highlight and help mitigate the problems confronting orphans, the street child and  needy in the country.

With support from corporate partners and individuals, ACOTF is aimed at bringing smiles to the orphan and needy children in the society through a series of donations to relevant organizations with similar agendas.

A theme song for the project, which boasts the best artistes in the Ghanaian music scene, has been recorded. Notable artistes on the Awal’s Children Of the Future(ACOTF) theme song include:  Sarkodie, Efya, Tiffany, Yaw Siki, Chase, Ruff N’ Smooth, Mohammed, and Fritz. The music track shall be sold to the general public both on CDs and in the iTunes store online. Proceeds from the sale shall be donated to an orphanage or similar entity.

This agenda will be achieved by also involving co-operate bodies and private individuals and companies to support. The ACOTF project is scheduled to make donations during every quarter of the year to a concerned institution in any part of the country. The ACOTF project will include regional musical concerts touring all the regions in Ghana and also by the end of the year, which will correspond to the date of the UN  Children’s Day.

Touching on how the idea came about, the CEO of MOB Records stated in an  interview that children have always played a major role in how he gets
inspired to work in the studio, and that this project is how best he can  reach up to them and the society as a whole.

He noted that one does not need to be highly rich and influential before  you can help the society. He explained that the theme song and the project will be launched. Known in private life as Mohammed Awal Alhassan,  Possible or “Possi G” is the brain behind most of the hit songs playing at the radio stations and nightclubs in the country. With a nice studio  setup tucked nicely in Ghana the suburbs of Tema Community One, Possi G has over the years created a niche for himself in the music industry.

Having being raised up with children who had no place to turn to, he sees this project as a wake-up call to himself and to Ghanaians to do more for orphans and the disadvantaged children in the society. He emphasized that it’s important to raise up children with love and care within a conducive and loving environment and believes that this project will help in that direction.

He concluded that getting the artistes to partake in the theme song for the project wasn’t difficult since most of them were already looking for ways to contribute towards society.

    Words From Our Celebrity Ambassadors

TIFFANY: As an artiste I believe we are blessed for people to listen to us and I am thankful to God and Possi G. for giving me the opportunity of being part of this project. I believe by the end of this people will put in much effort in promoting the well-being of orphans and the needy kids in the society.

SARKODIE: I had a call from Possi G on one weekend telling me about a charity project that he thought I would be interested in supporting. As an artiste you don’t only entertain; you support in whichever way you can when society calls upon you to support a good cause and the ACOTF project is definitely one of them.

CHASE: Many orphans live with no love and support from either one or both parents or the society, that’s why we are helping support this project and that’s what matters.

EFYA: This project touches my heart and this is what compelled me to be part of it. I have close friends who are orphans and when they talk about how they do not have parents you always appreciate your parents more. Most kids go through so much just to make it through a day and I appreciate the fact that Possi G included me in the ACOTF theme song.

FRITZ: To whom much is given, much is expected. Charity has always been my passion- that’s why I never hesitated when I had a call to come and be part of this Children Of The Future project.

MOHAMMED (BLAZE): Seeing kids on the street with no help has actually inspired me to be part of this project. As a child grows up, they need love and support to be able to grow up into responsible citizens.

RUFF-N-SMOOTH: we are privileged and thankful to God for giving us such talent and we appreciate the opportunity to help contribute in supporting a good cause from the MOB studios.

YAW SIKI: Our lines, lyrics, and beats shall serve as a channel and an amplifier through which we can send a message to the masses to create the awareness about the plight of orphans in the society.
