Working under the new name JennyC, she says that “this song is going to be about a true worshipper who wants to worship God in spirit and in truth. None can be compared to the Living God that we serve. No one, (Mokobe)”.
JennyC, whose real name is Jenny Chonia , continued by saying “I wrote ‘Mokebe’ in Ga which I collaborated with my mentor, Lady Pastor Lynn Johnson (a great woman of God and a wonderful singer) from the USA Michigan. When I came to Ghana last year, I performed on stage with Lady Prempeh at TV Africa’s Sound Splash and noticed we had a lot in common”.
But this small steel voice kept saying to me in my heart, sing the same song with Lady Prempeh. I prayed over it for three months when I returned to Switzerland and the confirmation came before I translated the song into Ga and Twi and made my producer called her back in Ghana.
These two powerhouse young gospel diva’s work amazingly well together in the Ga and Twi language which was produced by Kobby Ray (producer of Gifty Osei’ ‘Aseda’’. Their voices blend in this single for an inspiring praise song that might not familiar to those fans who also own Jenny C’s most recent album .
Jenny C continued by explaining that the collaboration is being inspired from the book of I Samuel 2:2, when God blessed Hannah with the fruit of the womb, she went back to offer God the only child God has given to her as a promise she made to the Lord to serve him. The point is sometimes when we are in need of something so badly we pray to God saying please God do this for me, and I will do that for you, but as soon our expectations is being granted, we forget God and lose our focus to acknowledge him of what he did. We should keep our promises to God".
