A free concert in the courtyard of Culver City Hall. Park Free for two hours in designated structures, dine out in many of the fine restaurants in downtown Culver City then enjoy a great evening of live music. Tonight's show features Ghanaian Reggae Star Rocky Dawuni with his 11 piece band.Ghana’s Rocky Dawuni fuses Reggae, Soul and traditional African sounds. A spokesperson for various causes worldwide, Dawuni won the Best African Artist award at the International Reggae & World Music Awards 2011 where he was also nominated for Best Album for his most recent project, “Hymns.” Courtyard opens @ 4:30 pm.
Curated by producer Gary Mandell of Culver City’s Boulevard Music, the 17th annual Culver City Music Festival offers something for everyone: fiery Spanish Flamenco and percussion with Incendio and Argentinian rock with Los Pinguos (July 7); Reggae with Ghanaian star Rocky Dawuni and his 11-piece band (July 14); Afro-Cuban salsa with Ricardo Lemvo and Makina Loca (July 21); acoustic Celtic band Molly’s Revenge with special guest vocalist Christa Burch (July 28); rock and rockabilly from guitar legend Albert Lee, backed by the Carl Verheyen Band (August 4); and Beatles tribute band 4 Lads from Liverpool (August 11).
Jazz Bakery Movable Feast presents the final two concerts in the series: jazz quartet Woodford, Ehling, Ratner & Wallace with guest vocalist Dwight Trible (August 18), and living Conguero legend Poncho Sanchez and his Latin Jazz Band (August 25).
Avoid the crowds and parking hassles of other areas on the Westside. Parking is free underneath City Hall, and dozens of dining options are available within walking distance. Culver City’s downtown area is Southern California’s best kept secret, featuring a wonderful mix of historic buildings, boutiques, theaters, galleries, and unique restaurants opening on to tree-lined streets.

The 17th annual Culver City Music Festival takes place on Thursday evenings at 7 pm from July 7–August 25. The Culver City City Hall Courtyard is located at 9770 Culver Blvd. in Downtown Culver City (corner Culver Blvd. and Duquesne Ave.).
Parking is free underneath City Hall; additional parking is free for the first two hours in designated structures in the Downtown area. The courtyard opens at 4:30 pm. No glass containers or alcoholic beverages may be brought into City Hall Courtyard.
