The two big stars on Christmas eve failed to impress their numerous fans, by not taking advantage of their 24th night gig at the National Theatre to prove that there wasn’t any stalemate between them, though it had been rumoured that there was something of the sort.
Even though Beatwaves gathered that there wasn’t any bad blood between the two and that they were on good terms at the moment, fans who attended the concert, dubbed “United for Peace Concert II” at the National Theater, did not get the benefit of the doubt.
Prior to the show it was anticipated that the two stars would be on stage together like Lumba and Nana Acheampong did last year to prove they still had good relations, but it did not turn out as such.
Ofori Amponsah was the first to perform, ahead of Lumba, with Kofi Nti, KK Fosu, and D’Flex, brother of the late Mufti Dabre, as supporting artistes. Lumba, as part of his act, walked through the audience sharing toffees.
During his act, all the above-mentioned artistes and others who used to be in Ofori’s camp joined Lumba on stage to perform as a sign of oneness. However Ofori was nowhere to be found. Observers consequently wondered if indeed there was no standoff between the two.
Performances at the show, organised by Ghana Base, left much to be desired as the artistes could not thrill the audience as they did last year. Others who also performed at the memorable event were Daasebre Dwamena and Castro.
