The few people that were at Rhapsody’s on Thursday night can never dispute the fact that Lloyd was off the hook. While others were thinking that he was going to be discouraged by the low turn-out, he brought his maturity to light by putting up a great performance that has been described by a lot of people as highly satisfactory.
The 23 year old from Los Angeles made himself so available that even the waitress at Rhapsody’s got photo shots with him. Indeed, the only reason why I don’t want to say this event flopped is the fact that Lloyd made every body happy.
Inter Globe, organizers of the event were probably thinking they could sell this event in 3 days because he was an "A" list artiste but as experienced event promoters will tell you “if you don’t market the event know body will know about it”.
When Lloyd finally got on stage after a three hour delay, the little but enthusiastic crowd were too ready for him. One of his highest points was a sweet piece he did with Lil Wayne’s Lolipop. “This guy has the sexiest voice in the world”, some one said behind me. He took control of his small crowd and inspired a lot of energy.
Lloyd's third album Lessons in Love was released in August 2008. The song "How We Do It (Around My Way)" was promoted as a single in early 2008, but only appeared on select versions of the album. "Girls Around the World" was the next single, another collaboration with Lil Wayne.
It has been confirmed that Lloyd has joined Sho'nuff Records, and although his contract with The Inc. Records isn't over, they're still promoting his single with Lil' Wayne.
