The Underground Music Scene in Ghana has seen releases of so many “mixtapes” these few years. This has given grounds for a much competitive underground music industry than usual, as every artiste strives to get to the limelight.
Qofi Menza decides to quench the thirst of his fans by releasing his first ever mixtape. This mixtape, dubbed “GHANABA MIXTAPE” is set to hit the streets and stores by the end of this year.
Asked about what to expect on the mixtape, Qofi says, “Because of my love for diverse music genres, I have enough of everything on this mixtape for all to love”. “Angel”(featuring Tauri); is a single off the GHANABA MIXTAPE which is already making waves both inside and outside of Ghana.
Qofi Menza has been doing music since the mid-nineties. Back then he was known by his friends as Maqavelli; a name given to him as a result of his passion for hip hop and also because he is a very big fan of the legendary king of the Westside hiphop movement, Tupac Shakur, A.K.A “Makavelli”. The journey has been easy, confesses the rapper.
“I took a long leave from Rap and just chilled in Ayawaso Kanda because all my dreams of being an MC got shattered”, says Qofi.
“It was getting almost impossible for anyone to be a successful rapper that we all dreamed of, because of the state the rap game was in” the rapper added.
“I have singles that are ready to take over and I just hope that the people embrace and help promote underground artists”, concluded Qofi Menza.
