There has been several comments flying around as to why Kojo Antwi has not released his new album titled "Mwaa" the sound of Kiss. Where as some are of the view that he might still be touching up a few tracks, some think it is due to his "perfectionist" nature.
There are others of the opinion that the meastro might be waiting for the right time and season while some think he has nothing to offer.
Pinnacle's attention has been drawn to a segment that seem to think that Kojo Antwi is simply scared to release. As absurd as that may find this school of thought, there are several factors which went into building this thought.
If for most of your professional life you have been on top, detacted market prices, organised and played the best shows and you are argueably the best in the system, then you will always be on edge in an attempt to stay there. Talk less of the fact that Kojo's last album "Tatto" which Pinnacle deems as his best did not do as well as expected.
Some say it was a conspiracy to kick Kojo out of the Market, strange as that may sound that is how much the industry has grown. At a point it was rumoured that the meastro was so upset that he turned his Freedom Family Entertainment Office and Shop at Kokomlemle in Accra into an internet cafe. It was also rumoured that the superstar believed that there were supernatural forces at play and sort refuge and spiritual help at Adumfa, a popular prayer camp.
If these rumours are anything to go by then it is only natural that the meastro as human as he is gets scared. However, it is unthinkable for a musician of his calibre and pedigre to be scared of a market he rules and has always ruled. Pinnacle had a conversation with a source close to the artiste and found out that the album was due to be launched on the 14th February when Kojo for the first time played for Madon Entertainment in Ghana.
As to why the Launch did not come off he might be the only one in the know, the meastro could not be contacted as he has been out of town for a while. Kojo should probably look at his management team again as the problem seem to be promotional/managerial and not spiritual or the conspiracy theory been bundled around.
He has probably been managed better than any other artiste in Ghana over the years but the game has changed and the players are changing.
Pinnacle believes that the superstar will release the album as soon as he touches base. We hope it will be the best yet after the long wait.
