Hiplife trio XRP on Saturday 14th January, 2012 outdoored their latest album ‘Azonto Girl’ at the Silverbird Life Style and Stores in Accra.
The press launch was to give the media an insight into the album and also to interact with the XRP.
The album has hit songs such as ‘Azonto Girl’, ‘Mama Esi’, ‘Wicked Shall Fall’ amongst others.
Addressing the press, the leader of the group, Bismark Oppong said “the album has gone through a lot and last year was a very challenging one for them.”
Other members of the group David Opoku-Boateng and Stephen Omani Kissi said they find it appropriate to launch the album this year and to use the occasion to thank God for making the album a success and also thankful to the media for being there for them, both in good and bad times.
The trio said the title ‘Azonto Girl’ comes from things that ladies nowadays do in our modern society.
The album has eight tracks and the title track ‘Azonto Girl’ features Castro who they attribute the success of the album to.
The XRP in an interview with pressmen after the press launch said the main album launch will take place in the first week of March.
“We are just outdooring the album to the media but the main album launch will be in the first week of June. We are giving it to the media to tell the general public that the album is out,” they said.
