Twenty-five-year-old Kuuku Ansong has announced his presence on Ghana’s gospel music terrain with a 9-track gospel album titled ‘Onakwafo’.
A couple of weeks ago, the album was launched at the Kaneshie Apostolic Church in Accra, with a ceremony which attracted quite a number of industry players.
In an interview with BEATWAVES, the young artiste expressed hope that his debut album would make an impact. “I have come to the scene to preach the Word through my song to let people see the ways of God. I hope and believe that this album will not only be successful but change the lives of people out there.”
The album has interesting praise and worship songs like ‘Your Name’, ‘Tumi Nyinaa’, ‘Oye Mame’, ‘We Praise You’, ‘Mema’, ‘Onakwafo’ the title track as well other interesting songs.
Kuuku started his musical career as a trumpeter from the age of 17. He played for the Ozimzim Band for 2 years, and also played the trumpet for the Soul Winners Praise Group before later joining the Megastar Band. Due to his passion for music, while trumpeting for these groups, he started to learn how to sing and went on to write his own songs. Fortunately, he is through with his debut album.
Born to Mr. Charles Ansong and Juliana Lamptey, he is the second of three brothers and two sisters. He hails from Kwehu Pepease and worships at the Christ Is The Answer Chapel at Bubiashie in Accra.
