For Jagoo & Pimp Juice (PJ), Konfi is the perfect name for a pair that has invested their heart and soul into their musical dreams for over 10 years now.
This name really suits us because there is unity sandwiched between us. We have love for music. We move together and have the same target,” says PJ.
Bound by their love of music and their undeniable talent, these two Swedru natives came together ten years ago and overcame all the obstacles that hindered their path to success. When they were In Swedru Secondary School, they eventually ‘murdered’ every entertainment show organized in school or neighbouring secondary school with their demos.Konfi is an already polished group meaning PJ is ‘sick’ sound engineer whiles Jagoo is a good songwriter when it comes to the lyrics.
There’s no question that Konfi which also means Confidence is next in a long lineage of great hiphop. “We got a mean swagger. It’s a new beginning for hiphop in Ghana. Watch out for ‘Woni ho’ jargon and we strictly rap in the Fante language,” says Jagoo recounting the group’s exclusivity.PJ adds that, “Already we have a big fan base in Swedru so we will be swooping fans soon in Accra and other areas.”
The group’s introductory single, “Like Father Like Son,”, served a refreshing new style called Street pop. “We have only released a single titled “Like Father Like Son and already people in the game are scared. Remember it’s a single. We have a good video well executed by Phamous People to back it, said Jagoo.While the irresistible “Like Father Like Son” song blows up the airwaves, Babilee (manager of Konfi) also adds that “Jagoo & PJ are well prepared and are here to stay to do things for long”.
