Born Wilhelmina Abiba Abu-Andani, Mimi Divalish who has now changed her name to "Habiba" is a former Big Brother Africa housemate, a chemist, a fashion designer, songstress and a princess of the Andani Throne in Northern Ghana.
She is signed to Movingui Records, managed by Paradise Entertainment and a realist who would speak her mind even if that would spark another controversy.
How does it feel to be Mimi Da Divalish now (Habiba)?
It's a normal feeling because am a very real person and don't act like the "way" celebrities act. I don't do things different from who I am and the only difference is that I sing, I do fashion, apart from that nothing is different.
Your two new singles seem to be talking more about problems in relationships, is there a personal reason for that?
There's no personal reason for a song like Tokebele because Castro wrote it for me but I don't know where Castro is coming from but I loved the concept. I don't know if he (Castro) was cheating with phones or what but its basically about guys cheating on their girlfriends using their phones.
Which of your songs do your relate to the most?
Tatoo, it's my favorite, its a girl song, its touchy and you know girls like to love and Tatoo is just about perfect love. Its classic and a nice song and happens to be Desmond Elliot's favourite song in the world. He contacted me to tell me he is my number one fan and wants me to sing him the Tattoo song on his birthday. It's a soundtrack to his upcoming movie and I will be touring with him all over Nigeria to perform Tattoo.
How do you keep your voice in top shape to hit all those top notes you sing in your songs?
I have a very special voice which I want Ghanaian's to get use to because people described it as "cant sing" just like people described Rihanna when she first came into spotlight. My voice is husky and when I speak people know its Mimi speaking. I have a special voice that's why I am using it for this special career. Its natural, I don't train it, it's like that and I can still hit all the notes.
Why do people partake in Big Brother Africa?
People partake because of different reasons but I participated because I needed a platform and may be the money to start this career I'm having now. Others have careers already but need the fame and money just for fun and others to boost their career and other people go for different reasons.
You mentioned after you were evicted that Ricardo "Ricco" Venancio was going to walk away with the money and he did, can you see the one who is going to win this BBA Amplified?
It's too early for me, I need to see two or three evictees before I can predict.
What influences your designs at Diva Fashions and how do you describe them?
Its all over the place, its real just like me and I am real and speaks my mind which usually sparks a lot of controversies but its unfortunate that's who I am. So with my clothes, I use a lot of colors because I am a colorful person and colorful people speak their mind. People who happen to love dark colors are very fishy and I put myself in my fashion.
How romantic are you?
[Laughing] I cant really tell may be you should ask my boyfriend.
Whats the toughest thing for you as at now in your career?
The toughest thing for me is the zeal to be on the world stage representing Africa. I yearn to be known out of Africa but I am not yet known as I wish to be known.
Whats your take on tatoos?
Tatoos has different meanings for people,I have them and I have them for different reasons.
What should Mimi fans be expecting?
They should expect the best from me and my next album titled YES!!!!! and this album is to prove my haters wrong. The album is diverse and beautiful but fans who would love to hear it before its realeased can be at Rockstones Office on the 18th of this month. I love and thank them all.
