    If you’re a hip hop head, you should know  TJ Humphrey. The  young man once known as Padlock hit the GH scene with his freestyles.

    The release of  his online download of his mixtape titled ““Love Me Now Or Never” is widely considered a classic one so far.

    TJ Humphrey has also ventured into  beats production. TJ Humphrey is set to making a splash in 2012 with the release of maiden album and mixtape.

    Ghana Music.com: What’s the origin of the name PADLOCK? I’ve heard others call you T.J, and I’ve as well read that your last name is Humphrey. Can you set the record straight?
    TJ Humphrey: Padlock was my high school name given by my seniors when I was a fresher on campus, it wasn’t originally from me but it automatically got stuck…. Well TJ Humphrey is the new brand name (Humphrey Tetteh Junior) and most importantly my real name.

    Ghana Music.com: That’s great, can u tell me a little about you?
    TJ Humphrey: Can I say, I'm young 23 years old music lover , producer, song writer and general merchant of Capture City Enterprise/ Records.

    Ghana Music.com: Well I have known you since the days of Channel O Rap Battle which  you came 2nd in the first event? I was your fan but was unfortunate you lost to J-Town. What have you been up to since that time?
    TJ Humphrey: I have never lost a rap battle in my life, I have always been a winner and I'm still in my winning days, all I can say is J-Town was highly favoured by the Judges.. After the competition I was pursuing my four year degree course in Banking and Finance and God being so Good I graduated.

    Ghana Music.com: Do you have an album or a mix tape out?
    TJ Humphrey: I have a mixtape titled “Love Me Now Or Never” and it's up on the internet for download. It's100 %
    hip hop and the best that ever dropped in Africa.

    Ghana Music.com: What has kept you on the low in the Ghanaian music industry?
    TJ Humphrey: As an independent artist the major factor that hinders my progress in this industry is having the adequate finance for pushing my music to your desired limits.

    Ghana Music.com: Growing up musically, what was the biggest trial you experienced?
    TJ Humphrey: Channel O Emcee Africa.

    Ghana Music.com. Who influences your style the most?
    TJ Humphrey: Eminem, Drake and Dr Dre.

    Ghana Music.com: What’s your favourite among your songs? And what makes it so special to you?
    TJ Humphrey: 'One Champion', it always makes me feel like I'm on top of my game and inspires me to do more.

    Ghana Music.com: What song is the most exciting for you to perform?
    TJ Humphrey: 'Number 1', 'One Champion' and 'Love Me Now'.

    Ghana Music.com: Who are your favourite guys to rap with?
    TJ Humphrey: Rumor and Slick Willie.

    Ghana Music.com: If you were on a plane from Accra to Kumasi, what 5 celebrities would you like to be in your plane with?
    TJ Humphrey: I'm a one man soldier and I only have plans of moving with my entourage.

    Ghana Music.com: What is your earliest memory of hiphop music?
    TJ Humphrey: it all goes down to the first single I ever fell in love with 'Dangerous' by Busta Rhymes.

    Ghana Music.com: Padlock is a handsome and a gentleman, any advice for those trying to get a date?
    TJ Humphrey: I'm strictly single and unavailable, But free to touch.

    Ghana Music.com: What makes you lose respect for somebody?
    TJ Humphrey: I will only loose respect for anyone who overlooks art and creativity for trashy projects.
