Clash of awards, a good or bad sign?

Riddle Riddle Riddle!!!! The Ghanaian arts industry had been looking for something to keep it running but it seems any time we get access to that thing, the more confusion and discouraged some people who are part of the industry become. What is that thing?

Currently, the industry has gotten enough of it that we are now battling with which of them we should pay our attention to. Here, we are talking about awards in the country which seemed to be non-existent some years back now the industry can boast of many(countable though).

Initially, it looked as though the gospel industry suffered a bit when it comes to awards, but players in that game can now heave a big sigh of relief as this year alone will witness two awards only for the gospel pundits.

Kudos to the Tema based Adom FM who started it all last year, another one from Jaka Music is also about to hit us making it two for this year.

From hindsight, it was not clear whether Adom FM was set for this year`s awards until recently when they started running promotion to remind its listeners and gospel lovers that come what may, they will be bringing music lovers yet another edition of the gospel awards.

The Tema lads can be said to have tasted their baptism of fire since last year so, much is expected from them after the many controversies sparked by George Forest against Nacy and his close allies. From all indications, it sounds as though the Ghana Gospel Industry Awards (GGIA) as was called by the organizers Adom fm will be held in May but the actual date is not clear as of the time we were preparing for bed this week.

The Dansoman-Sakaman based Jaka Group of companies are showing signs of readiness to deliver their best, but like it is said all the time, talk is really cheap and easy.

It is our prayer that they will seek for the necessary people with the requisite knowledge to put together an enviable awards scheme devoid of unnecessary controversies. Information has it that the Jaka gospel awards will be happening in June this year, coming right after the Ghana Gospel Industry Awards.

What the guys at Jaka should not forget about is the fact that Ghana is not ready to accept any mistakes with the excuse that it is their first time doing it. In fact, pundits in the gospel industry are jubilating about this feat achieved so far because they feel it will provide them the opportunity to distinguish between the good and the bad.

This is something that the guys at Charter house have ran away from all this while, making them hold Ghana music in ransom.

What seems to be the best news is coming from Jaka gospel awards who are bent on giving more than expected to award winners. Grapevine information say`s they are planning to give a car to the top most winner whiles the various winners will attract some big cash prizes.

We at Flex newspaper will welcome both award schemes with open hands as we wish them well in their desire to make the gospel industry a better venture to do business.
