She was born and raised in Kumasi in the Ashanti region. Her real name is Wilhelmina Abiba Abu-Andani and hails from Tamale in the Northern region.
She speaks Dagbani, Dagaare, Twi, Fante, Hausa, Spanish and English and also understands Italian and Portuguese.
She holds a degree in Chemistry from the University of Cape Coast (UCC.) Mimi participated in the Big Brother Africa 3 competition.
She now wants to become the biggest female performer in Africa and has released three singles ('Leave Me Alone', 'DJ', 'Tattoo' from her debut album, "Music In Me" with well executed videos from Phamous People which have received great acclaim worldwide.
