Philippa Baafi, a gospel songstress, is the latest victim of life threatening text messages being employed by undercover assailants to intimidate political opponents.
The artiste, who has been on the campaign trail of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) since the heat of 2008 general elections, has been asked to end her flirt with the NPP or risk either being shot or having her triplet abducted.
Her husband, Kwame Karikari, told Citi FM she received the first message yesterday at about 6:30pm.
“The next time you perform for the NPP on stage we will shoot you for the stomach musician to learn a lesson; if you dare tell the media we will kidnap your triplet,” the text message read.
The faceless agent also boasted to the family how it is bent on executing the task and warned them not to dare attempt to bring in the police.
“We are too close to miss, the police can’t protect you, forget them; even if we are arrested you would be shot,” he recounted.
Mr. Karikari said her wife has been working as a “professional musician” in that her hit song “Go high” was not sang originally to boost the chances of Nana Akufo-Addo or the NPP as perceived by a session of the public.
The song was composed in July 2007 and Nana Akufo-Addo’s campaign was licensed in August this year to use the song only for the election period.
He said the musician is ready to sell any of her songs to anyone interested.
Philipa Baafi also explained that initially she was “more scared”, and but having been taken through some psychological counseling, she was no longer afraid because God is on her side.
She was grateful to the police “for doing their best and putting the situation under control”.

i heard that phillippa baafi is a pastors wife,so how come that you will involve yourself into such a thing.even if you are not a pasters wife,as a gospel musician,you are a vessel in the hands of God,i wonder why some Ghanaians;gospel thought they are singing due to their satisfactory,but not knowing that,is due Gods satisfactory.please,baafi,if you know,you are the head,then be as God had assigned you.also,you are gifted and know that,you will give an account,iam not judging you,but tell you,how you are in the programme of God.baafi, i want you to imagine yourself,your voice and so forth.dont be influence by other musicians.
I am suprise that the media listens to this ladies liars and will not do any thorough investigations about her.She and the husband are blatant liars.WHERE ARE THE TRIPPLETS?Ghana Music do this investigations.Philipa Baafi doesnt have any tripplet.SHe has never stepped a foot to deliver in the states like she claim she did.
I am surprise when such a liar is said nobody investigates it two years now.
The facts is you can not give birth pre-maturely and leave the states immediately to come to ghana without the babies.
And how come she has left the baby in the car of someone for a year and half or so and have not visited them since.Check from the us embassy and see if philipa has been to ther states and check even if there are any babies as well.
its true Philipa doesnt have any tripplet.she is a liar ask her to show us the tripplets and where there are and lets our media men make follow ups.Philipa has not been to the states to deliver its all liars.
Philipa you see now,you see what people are writing about you,look we Africans have some mentality have you asked your self why we have so many resources yet we are poor most of our leaders are liars I mean the politicians so you Philipa been a public eye should not get on stage with these people as soon as you does this you disappoint some of your funs money is not everything.
Philipa’s husbnd is a radio presenter not a pastor. this will be a lesson for both the husband and Philipa because the NPP political promotion contract was for both Francis Asumadu and Christiana love but because Mr. greedy Kakari wants everything for his wife he pushed his was through for Philipa to be added to the contract. Francis Asumadu rejected the Contract because his wife to be who works in Canada for the Criminal justice advice him that if he accept the contact to promote the Npp on Stage, the opposition will come after him. Mr. lover man listened to his Mrs. right and turned down the contract which it was then given to Mrs Philipa Baafi Kakari.
so this is a lesson to both Philipa and her husband, lesson to advice, Africans politics is not like the first world country Mr. Kakari. your greediness got your wife into this mess.
I think the media should go into Philipa Baafi’s tripplet issue seriously.I think this woman is taking Ghamaiana for a ride.What a christian telling liars like this,God save us
Its so bad how black have his or her mentality on what ever some one did,its time to stop the hipocracy and mine your own business to progress and stop attacking people or who ever have his or her write to do what ever he want to do in life.When black is making it good in life there are a lot of enemies who try to fight against him or her thats why all those abroad and inn here poverty covering us,those abroad work like the old slaves and still poor only the dealers who makes it there,all is we dont help our people when God lift them up always want your down fall and smile it with when you are..if we did not stop this and been free and fare to each other we will not be happy and cool in life.
Ghana it happens a lot with political haitress so it may be true and even if its not true why do you think she will do this just to creat tention or what? she have her name already being a good gospel star and love her songs. But no wonder Ghanaians with their style talks with things which brings people down only no upwards. our country is sweet and beautitiful so lets love our selves and stop political hatress.
Ghana is not just the lang which we called Ghana,but Ghana is you and mee,if we the people are not on the land it cant do anything just will be bushy and all but its you and me who makes all the beautiful creation God gives to us lovely and looks more nice so lets love each other and stop political emotions to talk against people just like that and make the land more rich and all is hard working…. many strong guys are just sitting 12hours a day not working need executive work to do but he or she have no certificate for it,there are still a lot of work as we travel and clean streets abroad join the cleaning agents here and do some of the dirty works here to make the country nice andf stop traveling out and still struggle. Any body how will insult Phillipa Baafi is mad. If it is U who is been treating like this what will do? NPP STILL NO SHAKING WE ARE MOVING FORWARD. AMEN !!!
