Last Saturday will forever remain memorable in the minds of Ghanaian gospel music divas Suzzy and Matt as both ladies who have been singing together as a duo for many years tied the knots to their sweethearts at a joint wedding ceremony in Accra.

Thousands of well wishers, friends and relatives of the duo, thronged the auditorium of the Resurrection Power and Living Bread Ministries International to witness the grand wedding of the ladies who have inspired many with songs such as Ka Kyere Me, Ekye Koraa Ebaba Mu, Merenhinhim, and Yema Woso.

The enthusiastic crowd applauded and screamed as the two ladies and their prospective spouses walked with majestic steps towards the altar. Unlike the usual bridal tunes of an organ, the couples were ushered in with the impressive sound of traditional drums.

The ceremony brought together several ace gospel artistes like Christiana Love, Ohemaa Mercy, Gifty Osei, Daughters of Glorious Jesus, Joe Beecham, Moses OK, Uncle Ato, No Tribe, Willie and Mike among others. In fact, had it not been the bridal apparel of the couples, the ceremony would have easily passed for a gospel music fiesta.

The artistes took the auditorium by storm as they mounted the stage to dish out their hit songs to which the crowd sang and danced with great excitement.

Emmanuel Okyere, the spouse of Suzzy is a sales representative for a car agency whereas the husband of Matilda works with a firm in Canada.

The godfather of the two ladies, the famous Rev Yaw Owusu Ansah of Joy and Adom FM fame, was up on his feet midway through the ceremony and yelled in ecstasy as the officiating minister declared to the bridegrooms “you may now go ahead and kiss your brides”.

A host of reverend ministers from different churches were on hand to pray for the newly weds for peace, fruitfulness and prosperity in their marital lives.

Suzzy and Matt, who are in their mid-thirties, broke into the gospel music terrain a little over a decade ago. Since then, they have won the hearts of many including non-Christians with their lovely voices and sizzling performances.

For the first time in so many years, Suzzy and Matt would leave the home of their godfather, Rev. Owusu Ansah who had nurtured them from childhood, and reside in the homes of their husbands.

Some guests who spoke to this reporter said the marriage of the two ladies will mark the beginning of a new era in their lives and expressed optimism that with the counsel of Rev. Owusu Ansah and prayers from well-wishers, their marriages would be far from the unfortunate divorces that happen to some celebrities.
