Award winning duo Irene and Jane have parted ways and are pursuing separate carriers. Having been together after winning the maiden edition of “Stars of the future”, they no longer think they belong together. Irene, 1st prize winner of the reality show, has signed up with a new record label Lynx Entertainment and has already recorded a single, featuring Nigerian International, Faze.
Enquires into the reasons for the split brought up very interesting revelations including the fact that the merger was more or less an imposition from event managers and entertainment gurus, Charter House, who double as managers of Irene and Jane. For sometime now, Irene and Jane have had several unfavourable rumours going round industry circles. However, this failed to make its way to the public because Charter House wields so much power and influence that no press house dare get into their bad books.
The duo started off well with performances on Ghana’s biggest entertainment platforms. They recorded a good album which featured great Ghanaian and African musicians including Amandzeba (2nd Vice President – MUSIGA), Wutah of Nestcafe African Revelation fame and Blu*3 of Uganda. Another good feat was their deal with Ghana’s leading Cellular Network providers MTN which saw their images used for outdoor advertising. Charter House also sealed a 2-year international sales deal with a South African company. The duo has two videos shot and directed by the ever green Abraham Ohene Djan of OM studios and Gerald Gyimah of Phamous People.
Irene and Jane have seen a lot of pomp and publicity, nevertheless, their album sold only at Charter House events and hardly anywhere else in Ghana. The reason for the duo being booed at the Ghana Music Awards and the seeming public contempt is unknown. Hopefully, other media houses will take a cue from the Charter House/Irene and Jane experience as it epitomizes the saying… “Square poles can not fit in round holes” and concentrate on their specialized area of business rather than venture unnecessarily into other businesses; alternatively they could learn about the mode, operations and nature of other businesses before getting into them.
Twelve years of event management and television production obviously does not qualify one to enter into music production and management. Perhaps, the best thing Charter House ever did for Irene and Jane was the best female vocal-2008 plaque awarded to them at this year’s Ghana Music Awards.

hmmm yes it is exactly what the story says Charter is no good man i think they should change that Ghana music awards to charter house music awards.
wow…this is interesting
i dont know but corruption is everywhere so it can’t stop brothers and if you want to piont fingers my advice is check your house first
TOPEDO… u have said more than you think you actually said. take a guess.
YES him i agree with you Topedo what do you mean by that??????????
Thats what it shld be CHARTET HOUSE MUSIC AWARDS, mzbel did a good thing by kicking them out. big ups girl, award or no award the thing dey be… congrate on you recent award potrait of an excellent woman you truely deserve it. as for irean and jane, they are confuse i knew they were going 2 split up. one cant even tell wheather they are ghanian artiste or not. we know brick and lace are from jamaica but what about them… hahahaa…. very funny
chater house for the past years has created a bad reputation of not being genue in all their programmes. For the first stars of the futre which was organised, though was nice everybody knew Jemima Annor Yeboah would take the first price after being the best performer in the eye of the public. We all knew she had the highest vote but because her parents were not ready to bribe charter house because of their religious belief, and because their programmes are not genue they gave it to irene. Even Irene herself said she thought Jemima would win during an interview with him.
In the same way they didn’t make the Ghana Music Awards (2007) genue and look at the uncertainties which took place, to the extent that the some of the Artistes were not present. instead of Ghana Music Awards it was rather Charter House Music Awards.
The fact that the supporters of chater house may disagree with some of the genuine critizms bombarded on them by those of us who always wants the truth to be exhibited, whether they agree with us or not the truth will always be the truth. Yes we uderstand it is business the are doing and of course they have to make profit but genue one. For instance when they gave the award which belonged to either Ohema Mercy and Becca to Irene and Jane the Crowd were insulting them so they themselves were not happy after receiving it. They were so ashamed that they had to dedicate it to the nominees of that category.
We like the company Charter House but we don’t like the cheating and bribery side of them.
Charter House should advise themselves before Ghanaians advise themselves. During the 2007 Awards some of the Artiste refused to be present and next time it could be the audience and that wouldn’t be fine.
irene and jane are a goood side. i dont know why the media in ghana have sad bad things about then. have u listened their songs before? get a copy and listen to it before u get conclusive. they over desreve the best female vocal performance award.
Mash my sweet brother, it is good uve noticed that Irene and Jane are the good side, nobody is against that fact but the award “best female vocal performance” should not be presented to a group but an individual. If it should have been “best female group performance” that would have been an excellent.
