GoodiesIsaac Abeidu-Aidoo alias Goodies, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Goodies Music Productions, has been arrested by officials of the Narcotics Control Board (NACOB) for allegedly attempting to smuggle whitish substances believed to be cocaine.

He was busted for allegedly swallowing about 80 pellets of the substance with a street value of over €32,000.

A source at the Kotoka International Airport (KIA), who spoke to DAILY GUIDE in confidence, said Goodies was picked up while going through boarding formalities at the KIA to board a flight to the United Kingdom on Wednesday April 23, 2008.

The source said officials of NACOB, upon suspecting Goodies of carrying contraband, picked him for questioning, during which he allegedly confessed to swallowing about 80 pellets of cocaine ostensibly to sell in UK.

Goodies was whisked to NACOB Headquarters in Accra for observation and at the time of filing this story, he was said to have expelled 43 of the 80 pellets.

Goodies, who is also the founder of Goodies Foundation, a Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO), has produced top hiplife artistes who have made lots of impression in both international and local circles.

He is the producer of the hiplife trio, VIP (Vision In Progress). The group won five awards at the 2004/5 Ghana Music Awards.

Goodies was also the manager of sensational Nana Ekua Amoah, alias Mzbel, when she was allegedly raped and robbed by a gang.

The business ‘romance’ between Goodies and Mzbel broke down when the artiste left him, accusing the producer of leaving her in a dilemma.

The controversial “Apuskeleke” song by Nana Kofi Ofori also known as Sidney as well as “Fe ne eye fe” by Tic Tac was produced by Goodies.

On the international scene, his organisation has collaborated with one of the embassies in Ghana (name withheld) where he produced a song to promote the relation between that embassy and the Republic of Ghana.

Furthermore, he has collaborated with Tony Tetuila and 2Face Idibia, both from Nigeria, to come out with record-making songs.

As a philanthropist, he has used his foundation to collaborate with some institutions in Ghana including the Ghana Olympic Committee, the Prisons Service and other institutions to raise funds for sports in Ghana, prisoners and most importantly, People Living with HIV/AIDS (PLWA).

The whitish substance, which was tested at the Ghana Standards Board, had been confirmed as being cocaine.

He would soon be prosecuted after going through interrogations at the NACOB Headquarters.

DAILY GUIDE learnt that his wife Patricia had already paid him a visit at the NACOB Headquarters.
