Nnomaa has only one ambition which is to explore their God given talent of developing natural music. To them it is the bird that makes the best of sounds and they delight in listening to the melody it gives. This melody is what the group hopes to bring to all Ghanaians.
The pair, Spencer Boakye Adade and Emmanuel Amoasah who formed the group said they are just about to make their debut in the music industry but are optimistic of making it big.
“What our kind of music will do is to draw listeners closer to nature and that is what Ghanaians will love us for”, they told The Saturday Statesman in an interview.
They discovered their style by constantly listening to African and foreign music, especially high-life. “We appreciate Ghanaian music a lot and listening to it as well as foreign songs helped us to the study the music industry. From this we have been able to develop our own style”.
They started singing at a young age in church on Sundays and this gave them the inspiration they needed. Hip-life artist, Wutah is their idol.
The pair grew up in the same neighbourhood in Cape-Coast in the Central Region and were friends from childhood. Though, they went to different second cycle institution, they are looking forward to further their education and aspire to be video editors.
Nnomaa which literally means birds was adopted by the pair because “birds are natural creatures from God and anytime birds whistle, it is a form of music”.
According to them the music industry in Ghana is really big but it seems almost all the lyrics of the various artists reflects only on the positive side of the Ghanaian woman and it’s about time they touch on the negative aspects as well because every good thing has a bad side.
Nnomaa are currently under the management of 121 music production. Their music which is a blend of high-life,hip-life,gospel put together is not yet out but ready in the studio and need a producer to bring out their music.
For now, they have been performing at different programmes including Music Music on Tv3, Sound Splash of TV Africa and other notable places with the help of their manager.”We are looking forward to a producer to produce our music”.
