Quabena JayOn Sunday January 13, a report on Ghana Music.com by Ohene Foster (P&P) pointed out that Quabena Jay, known in showbiz circles as Maphia has been gunned down but upon our investigations, we found out that it was a cock and bull story.

Our relentless effort to get in touch with any relative of Maphia or the artist in question proved futile upon hearing the news of his death until January 20 when the air was cleared by Maphia himself on phone.

The said artist, who had been out of Canada for a musical concert didn’t even know what was going on till a friend spilled it out to him how people were wishing death upon him.

“I got very upset upon hearing the news cos it’s very unprofessional for someone to just write an article without getting the right info’s. Whoever wrote that article should have got his facts right before publishing such an article. I got so many phone calls from friends and even from people I didn’t know telling me what was going on and how low I could go. I think the reporter should have gone as far as he could to get the story right. This is unprofessionalism. I will never wish death upon myself. Don’t wish death upon me cos am trying to be what I’m destined to be. Don’t take my life away cos you aint my creator”.

“And to my fans and friends who have been so supportive, am sorry this article has created a whole mess but believe me, I’ve got some more banging tunes coming out so hate all ‘em people trying to end my life. I am not in for this kind of media hype. I won’t go to that extent. It’s GOD and you out there who make me so I can’t big-up myself. To Ghana Music.com, thanks for allowing me use your medium to tell the whole world the real truth”.

Well, all is said so that means Maphia still lives. No Maphiavelli or 50 Cent saga.
