The stage is set for what has now become known as ‘The Battle’. History was made Sunday night when 12 contestants from mentor 1, 2 and 3 graced TV3’s studio B stage to launch the fourth season of Ghana’s number one reality TV show.
Viewers were left with high hopes as the momentum gathered on the Mentor Spotlight TV show aired on TV3 and hosted by Mutala Muntari.
The idea is to bring together the performers and show-shakers of all three seasons of TV3 Mentor to battle for the ultimate prize. Finalists of The Battle include Isaac, Hakeem, Joe, Kofi, Vic, Cee, Erico, Faya, Paa, K.G, Dela and Prince (Mentor II).
The challenge for the 12 finalists is to live up to the hype and public expectation.
As the master of ceremony, Anita Erskine put it, ‘the blue stage is no longer the Mentor stage but the battle ground’. Most of the finalists have recorded albums and shot music videos for their songs, which means the battle line is drawn between experienced ‘fighters’.
It’s a great opportunity for them to prove they are worthy to be part of TV3’s innovation.
The world only witnessed the launch on Sunday. The real battle begins on stage next Sunday, as the public will judge who stays or leaves the battleground.
Dominic Ansah Asare couldn’t have put it better when he told the finalists on the Mentor Spotlight TV show ‘to hammer on what their best known for’ so we can choose the best of the best.
